A couple of weeks ago, the lovely team over at Green People got in touch and asked if I would like to try their new scent free sun care lotion alongside their popular hydrating after sun. I was really happy to give these a go, as I’d heard good things about the brand and I really liked that they were eco friendly, as I’ve been trying to make more conscious choices when it comes to the beauty products I use.

If you haven’t heard of Green People before they’re a UK based organic beauty and skincare company formed way back in 1997 by Charlotte Vøhtz’s after her young daughter Sandra was battling multiple skin allergies including eczema, and Charlotte couldn’t find any products on the high street that would suit her daughter’s sensitive skin. She then went on to create Green People, spending years researching and developing the range to never use synthetic or harmful ingredients.

I didn’t realise that you only need to have less than 1% natural or organic ingredients in a product’s formula to call it ‘natural’ which is a little scary if you’re trying to switch to more natural based products as there’s just so many out there!

All of Green People’s products are cruelty free, vegan, organic and contain plant extracts from sustainable sources. They’re also packaged really well in recycled and recyclable packaging.

With Summer in full swing, I was really keen to try the range and used both the sun lotion and hydrating after sun while I was on holiday in Menorca (the after sun I put on in the evenings after a shower) which was lovely and cooling after a day of being out in the sun, and I was really pleased with both products.

The Scent Free Sun Lotion is perfect if you have sensitive skin and need a high factor like me. I always use a minimum of factor 30 when I’m in the sun, as I just find anything lower and I always burn! As well as the usual UVA/UVB protection, this sun lotion has also got green tea and organic aloe vera extracts and is suitable for eczema and psoriasis sufferers. I like that its also water repellent so you can wear it in the pool or sea and know you’re still covered.

The Hydrating After Sun is 94% Organic and is rich in soothing Aloe Vera and Calendula which is great after a day in the sun plus I liked that the lotion was light and not sticky after putting it on, which I know a lot of after sun products tend to be like! This one absorbs quickly and also minimises peeling.

Having now found the Green People brand I will definitely be trying more of their range (really keen to explore their make up products) and if like me, you’re looking to make some beauty changes to brands who are so much kinder and conscious in their product ranges, then I would definitely recommend giving Green People a go. Not only do they offer sun care and make up, they have ranges across skincare, body and bath, haircare and also ranges for babies and children.
